Biography
Jason Brueck is an emerging digital artist from Philadelphia, who recently relocated to South Florida to further pursue his art making. Brueckâs incentive is to bring the seemingly unimaginable into reality by creating photo-surrealist works that are open to multiple interpretations.
Through the juxtaposition of classic and pop imagery he explores notions of past versus present. By integrating references that span the eras, he creates a whole new image which is undeniably contemporary. Brueck composes these images into digital collage, creating works that achieve an imperfect symmetry.
This concept of balance is congruent to themes of light and dark, which may be seen in his choice of subject matter as well as the literal tonal values of the compositions. His color combinations are dynamic and appealing.
There are many interpretations to the visual stories that Brueck embraces through his particular and poetic selection of imagery. Through the digital medium a myriad images are made available, allowing access to the imagination that extends beyond technical rendering to embrace conceptual manipulation within a purely modern aesthetic.
